The Central Java Provincial Association (Asprov) of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has decisively addressed the violence that erupted during the Semarang Regent Cup 2024 village football tournament. The Disciplinary Committee (Komdis) of the Central Java PSSI Asprov has issued at least 10 official rulings related to the individuals involved in the disturbances at the Semarang Regent Cup Bener Bersatu Cup 2024.
These decisions encompass the misconduct of players, the failure of the organizing committee to maintain order and security, and the responsibilities of the Regency Association (Askab) in administrative issuance. Ismu Puruhito, Chairman of the Komdis Asprov PSSI Central Java, clarified that these decisions align with the regulations outlined in the PSSI Disciplinary Code of 2023.
“These matters are stipulated in the PSSI Disciplinary Code 2023 under Article 50 paragraphs 1 and 2, Articles 68 and 69 regarding misconduct towards match officials and the failure of the organizing committee in carrying out their duties,” stated Ismu in an official release.
Ismu expressed hope that the strict measures taken by the Komdis Asprov PSSI Central Java would serve as a lesson to all parties to avoid similar acts of violence in any future matches. “This firm action is taken to create a safe, comfortable, and fair play environment in football, and to assist the government in creating a conducive situation,” he added.
The Komdis Asprov PSSI Central Java session held on Monday (June 10, 2024) resulted in several sanctions for eight professional players, varying in severity.
