From Grassroots to Glory: Dejan FC’s Path to Liga 2

In an unexpected turn of events, the football club from Mampang, Kota Depok, Dejan FC, has created a sensation in the quarterfinals of the 2023/2024 Liga 3 season. The team achieved their dream of competing in Liga 2 Indonesia next season after defeating Persikas Subang with a score of 2-0. The match took place at Benteng Reborn Stadium in Tangerang on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Before their victory against Persikas Subang, Dejan FC had first defeated Persekabpas Pasuruan with a commanding 3-0 win. With six points from these two matches, Dejan FC secured their promotion to Liga 2 Indonesia next season.

However, Dejan FC’s journey in the quarterfinals is not yet over. They still have one remaining match against Adhyaksa Farmel FC at Indomilk Arena Tangerang on Monday, June 3, 2024. Winning this match remains Dejan FC’s main goal to ensure their progress to the semifinals of Liga 3 this season. One mission is accomplished, and now the young team from Depok is aiming for their second mission: to become champions in the upcoming match.

Dejan FC is a football club from Mampang, Kota Depok, West Java, Indonesia. The club competes in Liga 3 Jawa Barat and became runners-up in the 2022 season. Initially, Dejan FC was a local amateur club that made its debut in Liga 3 Jawa Barat Seri 1 in the 2022 season. They reached the final but lost to Persipasi Kota Bekasi with a score of 1-0.

In the following season, Dejan FC finished third in group B and failed to advance to the second round. Despite this, their performance as finalists in the Liga 3 Jawa Barat Seri 1 2022 earned them a ticket to the national stage.

Dejan FC’s journey in the national stage began in the round of 80 with positive results, defeating TS Saiburai 2-0 and PS Palembang 5-0, and drawing 3-3 against Perse Ende. These results brought Dejan FC to the round of 32, where they managed to defeat the champions of Liga 3 Jateng, Persip Pekalongan, with a score of 2-1. After a draw with PSGC Ciamis 2-2, Dejan FC advanced to the round of 16 after a convincing 4-1 win over Persikasi Kab Bekasi.

In the round of 16, Dejan FC was placed in a tight group C. They managed to score only one goal in each match but still achieved positive results. Dejan FC defeated the Papua representative, Persipani Paniai, with a score of 1-0, then drew 1-1 with Persipasi Kota Bekasi, and finally secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Tornado FC from Pekanbaru, ensuring their place in the quarterfinals.
